About Chef Bondy


Ask Chef Joanne Bondy about her career and the understated chef will underplay her accomplishments but come to life when the conversation turns to food and the pleasure she gets from people enjoying her creations.

Chef Bondy’s restaurant, Ciudad exploded onto Dallas culinary scene in 2001, earning a spot on Esquire’s list of 20 Best New Restaurants in America. Bondy’s recipes have been published in numerous cookbooks, and she has appeared on the Food Network, the CBS Early Show, and several PBS documentaries. Bondy also received the coveted accolade of cooking at the James Beard House in New York City three times.

Bondy recently resigned as the Executive Chef at The Old Hickory Steakhouse at the Gaylord Hotel in Grapevine, Texas. She is now working on some very exciting projects that have her doing what she loves - interacting with friends, family  and food lovers and cooking up favorite dishes for her favorite fans.
